Sustainability and Efficiency Improvement of Steam Cracking Operation

      Steam Cracking Furnace is an important operating process in producing olefin. Radiant coil in cracking furnace manufacturer develops new material called ‘Alumina Oxide layer’ and design rotating flow pattern, which increase 2-5 times of heat transfer rate before remove carbon on tube surface. 

      Currently, equipment manufacturer and petrochemical plant is collaboration to analyze and prototype process by using many methods e.g. Process Simulation software, Statistical Analysis , Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and materials science laboratories

      Comparison result between patterned tubes and bare tubes
• Increased Run Length due to Lower TMT & Coke Formation
• Higher Product selectivity = 1% more Olefins
• Increased energy efficiency or Higher Feed rate/conversion potential = energy saving or 10% more feed rate or 2% higher conversion ( based on identical coking rates)
